What We Do

The Wave of Edgewater provides women-centered behavioral health treatment in Clearwater.

Behavioral Health Treatment in Clearwater

At The Wave of Edgewater, we provide compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health treatment in Clearwater designed exclusively for women. We understand that mental health challenges don’t just affect one part of life—they touch everything. That’s why our approach goes beyond symptom management. We help women rebuild confidence, regain control, and create a path toward lasting wellness.

Every woman’s story is different, and healing looks different for everyone. Our programs offer a structured, supportive space where women can focus entirely on recovery. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma, our team provides the tools and guidance you need. Through therapy, peer support, and holistic wellness, we help women address the underlying causes of their struggles and develop healthy coping strategies that last.

Choosing to seek help is a big step, and you deserve a program that truly understands your needs. At The Wave of Edgewater, we offer multiple levels of care, each designed to meet you wherever you are in your healing process. Our residential treatment, partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient program (IOP) provide flexible, individualized care that empowers women to reclaim their lives.

Programs Offered

Residential Treatment

For women who need a focused and immersive environment to heal, our residential treatment program offers 24/7 care in a safe, structured setting. This level of care is ideal for those struggling with severe mental health disorders or co-occurring conditions. Here, women receive medical and clinical support while living on-site, away from external distractions that may interfere with progress. A stay in residential treatment provides the time and space needed to fully engage in therapy, develop new coping skills, and build a solid foundation for long-term recovery. With a combination of individual counseling, group therapy, and holistic wellness practices, women gain the tools they need to process trauma, manage emotions, and break free from destructive patterns.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers structured treatment while allowing for more independence than residential care. Women in PHP attend therapy and treatment sessions during the day but return to a supportive living environment in the evenings. This option is ideal for those transitioning from residential treatment or those who need intensive support without 24/7 supervision.PHP provides a balance between structured care and real-world application. Women engage in therapy, skill-building workshops, and group support while beginning to reintegrate into daily life. This program helps clients strengthen coping strategies, establish healthy routines, and prepare for the next stage of recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

For women who need ongoing support while managing responsibilities at home or work, our intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers a flexible treatment option. IOP includes scheduled therapy sessions multiple times a week, allowing women to receive structured care while maintaining their daily commitments. This level of care is ideal for those stepping down from PHP or those who require continued support as they rebuild their lives. IOP focuses on relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and strengthening the skills needed for long-term wellness. Women in IOP have access to individual therapy, group sessions, and peer support, all while applying their recovery tools in real-life situations.

Treatment Options

At The Wave of Edgewater, we provide a wide range of behavioral health and mental health programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each woman in our care.

One-on-One Counseling

Private sessions with experienced therapists offer a safe and supportive space for women to work through personal struggles, build confidence, and develop tools for lasting healing. Each session is adapted to individual needs, ensuring focused care.

Group Therapy & Support

Group sessions at The Wave of Edgewater provide a space for women to connect, share experiences, and encourage one another. Discussions cover mental health recovery, emotional well-being, communication skills, and rebuilding relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps women identify and shift harmful thought patterns that contribute to addiction and mental health concerns. This practical, science-backed approach encourages new ways of thinking and responding to challenges.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT teaches skills for managing emotions, improving relationships, and staying present in the moment. This therapy is particularly useful for women facing intense emotional reactions or borderline personality disorder.

Healing from Trauma

Past experiences can shape present struggles, which is why our trauma-focused care provides a compassionate setting for women to heal. We create a safe space where clients can process past pain and build strength for the future.

Preventing Relapse

Long-term recovery requires preparation. Our relapse prevention programming equips women with strategies to identify triggers, cope with cravings, and maintain sobriety through life’s challenges.

Therapeutic Activities

Recreational therapy brings movement, creativity, and enjoyment into the healing process. Through art, fitness, nature outings, and mindfulness exercises, women strengthen coping skills and improve emotional well-being.

Building Life Skills

Recovery is about more than just sobriety—it’s about creating a fulfilling life. Our life skills therapy helps women regain independence, build routines, and develop confidence in handling everyday responsibilities.

Ongoing Support & Community

Recovery doesn’t end when treatment does—it’s a lifelong process that requires continued support, guidance, and community. At The Wave of Edgewater, we make sure every woman leaves treatment with a personalized aftercare plan that aligns with her unique needs and goals. This may include referrals to outpatient therapy, sober living arrangements, support groups, or continued counseling to help maintain progress. We believe that staying connected is key to long-term success, which is why our alumni program provides ongoing encouragement, accountability, and peer support. Through regular check-ins, alumni events, and a strong recovery network, women can continue to build relationships with others who understand their struggles and triumphs. Whether facing challenges or celebrating milestones, our alumni community ensures that no one has to navigate post-treatment life alone.
