Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about The Wave of Edgewater:
Q: Who does The Wave of Edgewater serve?

The Wave of Edgewater treats women who are experiencing mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder from trauma, anxiety disorders, anger management issues, and other mental health challenges that interfere with the ability to enjoy life.

Q: Is the staff at The Wave of Edgewater women only?

All members of the treatment team present in the facility are female.

Q: Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

At the moment, we do not accept Medicare and Medicaid. We are working with these government agencies to get credentialed to begin accepting these insurances.

Q: Is the Wave of Edgewater affiliated with any religious organizations or groups?

No, we are not affiliated with any religious groups or associations.

Q: What is the cost and the average length of stay for treatment?

The cost varies based on your insurance and finances. We recommend 30 days of treatment and then stepping down to another level of care to complete your program. Contact our admissions team for more information.

Q: Are electronics permitted to be used at the treatment center?
At the discretion of your therapist, you may use your cell phone, laptop and other electronics during free time.
Q: Is wifi available at The Wave of Edgewater?

Yes.

Q: What amenities can I expect to enjoy at The Wave of Edgewater?

Our treatment center offers a gym, areas for relaxation and meditation, a game room, a media room, a fully equipped art center, as well as the ability to get moving outdoors, participating in activities along the oceanside that’s right out your front door.  

Q: Will I be in programming all day?

Each week, there are supervised outings to nearby parks, beaches, and other local attractions. We also have weekend spa services in-house and weekly grocery delivery. Due to COVID 19, outings are limited.

Q: Does The Wave of Edgewater provide transportation to or from treatment?

Please contact your Client Advocate for additional details on transportation.

Q: Are pets permitted at The Wave of Edgewater?

Service animals with the proper paperwork are permitted.

Q: Can I smoke or vape while visiting or staying in the treatment center?

Clients may smoke during specified times in outdoor smoking areas. Vaping is also permitted outside of the facility.

Q: What will I need during my stay?

We recommend you pack a week’s worth of casual attire for your stay. Laundry facilities are available at the residence. Each woman is provided with basic toiletries as well. An example of needed garments would be pants or shorts, shirts, and underwear for seven days, nightwear, workout wear, one bathing suit, comfortable walking shoes and shoes to wear on the beach. We also recommend a light sweater in case of cooler weather.

Q: What type of meal service is available to clients?

Breakfast is an array of continental choices. You are able to select your lunch and dinner from options provided by our in-house chefs.

Q: Are private rooms available?
All rooms at The Wave of Edgewater are private.
Q: Can I bring my own medication?

Please bring ALL  medications you are currently taking – in the original bottles. These will be reviewed and approved by our Director of Nursing. Additionally, our doctors may prescribe medication during your stay, which will be obtained for you from a local pharmacy. Please note: We do not administer medications.

Q: Are family members welcomed?

There are specific visiting hours for The Wave of Edgewater. If your therapist recommends, you can participate in family therapy sessions while you are in treatment. Due to COVID 19, all outside visitations are currently restricted.
